Dear Little Leaves families,

The health and well-being of our community is of the utmost importance to us. We continue to monitor and follow the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other federal and state health agencies as they continue their work to address the new coronavirus, COVID-19. We are taking proactive measures to maintain a healthy learning environment. At this time, there are no known cases of this virus associated with our program.

A healthy environment starts by limiting exposure to germs from those who are ill. Please keep your children at home if they are unwell, symptomatic or contagious. We ask that you please watch your child closely and contact your physician if your child appears to be feeling ill. Please remember that your child must remain home until symptom-free for at least 24 hours. We are emphasizing the same procedures with regards to our staff.

We observe children’s health throughout the day, and will respond appropriately as needed if we detect any potential signs of illness. Children with symptoms (including changes in behavior/appearance, fever, coughing, sneezing, or shortness of breath) will be separated until they can be picked up. If your child becomes ill during the day, we will call you immediately so that your child can be picked up as soon as possible.

For more information, please refer to our illness policy in our Little Leaves Family Handbook or contact your office manager.

We continue to follow our detailed hygiene, cleaning and sanitation procedures, consistent with the CDC and state guidelines. Our current protocol includes:

  • Washing our hands and the hands of our children at the start of the day and regularly throughout the day;

  • Using disposable/paper towels to dry hands;

  • Using anti-bacterial wipes for cleaning surfaces and wiping down toys through- out the day;

  • Ensuring we cover our coughs and sneezes with a tissue or on our sleeve, and then wash or sanitize our hands.

In addition, we have:

  • Distributed antibacterial sanitizer for all staff to use during the day;

  • Contracted our cleaning service to do conduct additional cleaning and sanitizing of frequently touched surfaces such as toys and doorknobs;

  • Ensured the cleaning products used are effective and used according to the manufacturers’ recommendations;

  • Developed plans in the unlikely event we are required to limit our services.

As we enter Spring, we recommend that you follow CDC guidance regarding travel: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html. Upon returning, if you or your child have any symptoms of illness, please contact your physician and/or the health department for guidance – and please be sure to let us know and keep your child at home. For additional information about COVID-19, please visit www.cdc.gov

We will continue to communicate as needed but in the meantime, if you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact your office manager or your clinical team.

We thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards

Marina Major
